SKY Cig Electronic Cigarette Corp. Pushes for Full Product Testing and Disclosure Contact Information Share and Connect Electronic cigarette corp pushes for full product testing on the heels of heighten publicity surrounding the e-cig industry Online PR News – 01-February-2011 –Leading electronic cigarette provider of the United Kingdom, SKY Cig, is pressing to have its full line of products analyzed by a 3rd party accredited UK agency. This news comes on the heels of heightened publicity of the e-cig industry, after the State of New York recently advanced a bill that could one day ban the product from sale within its borders. “I know the ingredients that our product contains, and I know unequivocally that it is 100% healthier to smoke than a tobacco cigarette”, CEO Sam Marks states. He goes on to remark, “it is however important that we back our claims with substantiated facts from official 3rd party sources”. Since the FDA and other agency have not yet completed their thorough analysis of the most common e-liquid ingredients, SKY Cig will use an accredited UK Scientific Service Organization to analyze the components and disclose the findings to advance the public understanding of the product. Thus far, no official agency has stepped out to call electronic cigarettes “unhealthy” and most seem to agree that it is leagues healthier than smoking tobacco, containing over 4,000 chemicals including carcinogens which cause cancer and other deadly diseases. The one common ingredient found in both traditional cigarettes and SKY Cig electronic cigarettes is nicotine. Aside from that, the e-liquid ingredients contain Propylene Glycol, Water Glycerol, Nicotine, and artificial flavours. Joel Nitzkin, of the Tobacco Control Task Force for the American Association of Public Health Physicians states, “ We have every reason to believe that the hazard posed by e-cigarettes would be much lower than one percent, probably lower than on tenth of one percent of the hazard posed by regular cigarettes” Electronic cigarettes were also recently featured in new movie The Tourist with Johnny Depp, showcasing the products ability to be used anywhere, including a passenger train. The key to Sky Cigs success is their customer satisfaction, as they attribute most of their growth in the UK to word-of-mouth. “We receive hundreds of testimonials a month from customers saying how our product saved their lives, saved them money, and reduced some of their health ailments like coughing and wheezing". Mr. Marks also goes on to say, that these testimonials and user photos are displayed publically on SKY Cig’s “Happy Customers” page. The proposed bill in New York is being pressed on measures that the state believes the product, available in “candy-like” flavours maybe appealing to a younger, underage audience. The bill is not being pursued on any claims that the product lacks conclusive health claims, but rather the States belief in the ease in access to minors. The United Kingdom’s MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency) is supposed to report on e-cigarettes next month to determine whether they believe the products should be regulated like medicines.
