With more opportunities to connect and learn from the local community, the Zero Waste Communities (ZWC) is ready to engage San Bernardino County residents using this exciting social media platform.

The ZWC plans to use their new Facebook page as a way to connect with residents and keep them updated on everything related to zero waste. There will be weekly updates on local environmental events, cool video clips, and interesting articles and tips on how to reduce, reuse and recycle!

The fan page allows community members to be the first to find out about new recycling efforts and trends, reuse tips, program news and much more. Fans of the page can also share Zero Waste Communities as a resource to their friends.

“The great thing about the Zero Waste Communities Facebook fan page is that it will serve as a space to interact with the community through updates and comments. While the Zero Waste Communities website is an incredible resource for residents interested in recycling, reuse and reducing their impact on the environment, our Facebook page encourages users to interact and creates an important open forum to exchange ideas or promote local events,” says Olivia Sanchez, a recycling specialist with San Bernardino County.

Becoming a fan of Zero Waste Communities will not only give residents valuable insider tips on reuse and DIY projects, but the first 30 fans of Zero Waste Communities that comment on the wall “I use reusable bags!” will receive a FREE reusable zip-n-tote bag from the Reusable Bag Campaign!

The Zero Waste Communities of San Bernardino County is made up of 16 cities and the County of San Bernardino. They have partnered to educate their residents and businesses on waste reduction, reuse, and recycling. Reducing waste helps save valuable resources and decrease disposal at our landfills, ensuring a better quality of life.
