Xerafy announces Sky-ID, a high memory, passive, UHF RFID tag that meets ATA Spec2000 and is SAE AS5678 compliant to meet environmental performance and robustness for the aerospace industry.

Online PR News – 12-April-2011 –Xerafy Ltd, a global provider of rugged passive RFID on-metal tags, has certified the Sky-ID high memory, ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID tag to be SAE AS5678 compliant for meeting the industry regulatory approvals of RFID use for airborne aircraft parts, such as the Airbus A350 XWB RFID initiative.
The new Sky-ID tag, having one of the most impressive read ranges for its size, has passed independent laboratory tests to withstand specific variations in temperature, air pressure, vibration, shock and other environmental factors required by SAE AS5678. The tags have also been qualified by our high memory chip partner Tego to work well with software and readers to store manufacturer data and maintenance history information according to the ATA Spec2000 standard for flyable parts.
“Xerafy, already supplying to non-flyable inventory, tooling and calibration management, is pleased to now add to the safety, quality and efficiency of supplier parts management,” said Dennis Khoo, CEO of Xerafy. The Sky-ID tag comes with 4K bytes and 8K bytes in memory size to help aviation companies build a digital view of its supply chain for the flyable operations. The benefits include visibility of full maintenance history across organizations, reduced occurrence of “no fault found” conditions and improved configuration management and line maintenance.
The Sky-ID tag, a global UHF high memory tag, measures 1.38 by 0.8 by 0.16 inches (35 by 20 by 4 millimeters) and weighs 0.2 ounces (6 grams). Xerafy and our partners will be introducing the Sky-ID tag at the RFID Live show in Orlando, FL April 12-14, 2011.
