Philippines will hold a discussion and short workshop on its latest Mobile Transport Transformation Solutions, which include the latest in its portfolio of Backhaul and IP RAN Solutions on Friday, April 15, 2011, from 2:30 pm to 5 pm at the Boardroom 2 of the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City. Network experts from Ericsson’s headquarters in Sweden will discuss Mobile Transport Transformation trends and showcase Ericsson’s latest Minilink and OMS equipment.
Rajendra Pangrekar, Ericsson Philippines President and Country Manager, explains that “Meeting the challenge of reducing costs while rolling out new mobile coverage and capacity requires an even greater focus on solutions that provide lower total cost of ownership (TCO). This means creating solutions that make efficient use of energy, building space, radio spectrum and transmission resources. Maximizing transmission efficiency is especially important as transmission can account for up to 50 percent of the mobile network TCO.”
Ericsson’s market leading microwave solution, MINI-LINK will also be shown during the workshop. MINI-LINK is the world's leading microwave solution, suitable for any network scenario. It enables flexible and speedy network rollout, and provides gigabit capacity and carrier-grade availability.
“Our microwave offering enables deployment, evolution and migration of networks in a cost-efficient, step-by-step fashion, and fully supports the concept of lowest cost of ownership,” Pangrekar reveals. “The hardware is highly flexible, and the high production capacity, along with the ability to offer complete turn-key site solutions, enables quick and efficient roll out of individual hops or complete networks.”
