Online PR News – 21-April-2011 –Milwaukee, Wisc. April 22, 2011—A group of documentary filmmakers and auto-enthusiasts will soon embark on an historic journey, they announced today, Earth Day 2011. This summer, they will begin a project to build the world’s greenest, most energy-efficient automobile and then drive it cross-country from Wisconsin to California. The entire “experiment” will be chronicled in the film entitled: Green Machine Experiment. The vehicle itself will rely on existing green technologies and as many earth-friendly components as possible. Which technologies will be used, and how they are used, will be the main subject of the film. The team will analyze every piece of the vehicle—from the transmission to the tires—and attempt to find the most environmentally friendly options for all components. The process of selecting the technology, parts and design will be the main storyline of the film. “With the increasing economic burdens that come with our dependence on foreign oil, the impact of petroleum-based products on our environment—and so little being done to drastically change the way we make our vehicles—we want to set an example for automakers and people around the world,” said Andrew Magpoc, the film’s producer. “We hope this experiment will spark more creativity and, more importantly, action from the companies and consumers who can make a difference.” The Green Machine Experiment is truly a “social” experiment, offering the opportunity for the general public to contribute to the film through donations of materials and/or funding. Depending on their level of donation, contributors will receive anything from a DVD of the film, to a ride-along for part of the trip, to producer credit. The group also announced an Earth Day petition, which is hosted on the Green Machine Experiment’s Facebook page. Anyone can contribute their name and a comment, and the comments will be incorporated into the film itself. “We want eco-conscious people to have a hand in this movement, so we opened the film up to public funding and contribution,” said Director Brad Pruitt. “We want everyone to have a chance to get involved in this project, which we believe will be one small step in the resurgence of American innovation in automotive technology.” Pruitt added, “We want to be a part of the rebirth of the Midwest automotive industrial center. It’s a big opportunity and a unique film project that everyone can be a part of.” Donations start at $1.00 and can be sent through the film’s page on Kickstarter.com.
