Gas prices continue to skyrocket toward $5 per gallon, which has left consumers scrambling for ways to cut transportation costs. Consequently, Car Insurance Rates saw more traffic last month than ever before.

Online PR News – 09-May-2011 –CarInsuranceRates.com, a site dedicated to helping consumers reduce car insurance expenses with free quotes, experienced more site traffic in April of 2011 than it has in the last ten years. The uptick in traffic is most likely a result of continually climbing gas prices forcing drivers to cut transportation expenses any way they can.

As of this week, a gallon of gas costs an average of just under four dollars in the United States. Experts say the trend is unlikely to reverse anytime soon, and many predict the average will reach $5 per gallon before the end of the summer.

“With an ever-increasing fuel-cost burden, drivers are frantically trying to fit their transportation costs into their budgets. Driving less and taking advantage of alternative forms of transportation can only get you so far. Focusing on reducing car insurance rates is likely a far more productive way to keep costs down, and that is precisely what CIRS is designed to do,” explained CIRS spokesman Nathan Ackerman.

Car Insurance Rates is known for its ultra-competitive quotes on auto insurance policies of all kinds, and the potential savings have drawn in more visitors in the past month than ever before. While CIRS has been able to handle the additional load thus far, the site’s web masters are considering expanding its capacity in anticipation of even more visitors in the coming months.

“It’s entirely possible, and even probable, that gas prices will eventually fall, but that does not mean they will fall back to an affordable level. This is a trend we don’t expect to see reverse in the future, which is why we’re making tentative plans to beef up the site to accommodate the droves of additional visitors we expect in the next few months,” said Ackerman.
