Online PR News – 12-May-2011 –A Walton-on-Thames retailer is sponsoring a cancer charity’s fund raising event, in the hope to generate thousands of pounds.
Volkswagen retailer Colbornes has donated hundreds of pounds to the Karen Morris Memorial Trust that has allowed them to host a charity Jazz Tea.
The Karen Morris Memorial Trust was started by mother Sylvia Morris, who lost her daughter, Karen Morris, to leukaemia, aged just 23.
Funds raised will go directly to projects which will help to ease the emotional and physical pain of leukaemia patients and their families.
This Sunday, 15th May, the Riverhouse Barn will play host to jazz artist Shella Barth and other musician friends including the Sam Walker Trio, Drako Deo, Mike Head and legendary vocalist and percussionist, Frank Holder.
Guest’s will also enjoy a traditional full English tea whilst taking in jazz classics and contemporary songs
The Trust’s Chair, Sylvia Morris, said: “I’m extremely grateful to Colbornes Volkswagen, without their generosity the Jazz Tea would not have been possible.”
Colbornes Volkswagen’s brand manager, Darren Venn, said: “It is brilliant news that we are able to support a worthwhile, local cause.
“We hope that the event raises thousands of pounds for the Karen Morris Memorial Trust and Colbornes Volkswagen will continue to support local charities, where possible.”
A limited number of tickets are available for the Jazz Tea at £15 per person; for tickets or further information about the KMMT, please ring Sylvia on 07906 332957.
