Online PR News – 19-May-2011 –Encinitas, CA----The Grauer School will host their annual music festival “GrauerPalooza 2011” on the campus green located at 1500 S. El Camino Real in Encinitas on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The outdoor event will feature over 30 musical performances by six through 12th grade students as well as faculty members and special guest performance by Eveoke Dance Company. Demonstrations by the Grauer Robotics Team and booths hosted by students clubs will join musicians during the celebration. This year, in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the school, the public is invited to attend and participate in the event that includes a barbeque and dunk tank.
According to Music Director Isaac Langen, “The students prepare all year long for this exciting event that provides them with the opportunity to showcase their musical talent. It also gives students and faculty members the chance to collaborate on musical selections that were chosen by the students. A large majority of the school plays a part with various student clubs contributing live demonstrations while family, friends and members of the greater community are offered a glimpse of the Grauer School experience. It’s a high energy, entertaining display of music, art, photography and robotics.”
The event will be held on the outdoor lawn that is surrounded by a three-acre natural habitat. Unique to other college preparatory campuses, this preserve is home to native plants and animal species that are cultivated and cared for by the Grauer School student body. The lush vegetation serves as both an active outdoor laboratory for environmental education as well as providing an organic oasis for contemplative breaks between classes.
The Grauer School is a UNESCO associated, independent grades 6 –12 college preparatory school accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
