The new Rodney Lough Jr. gallery in San Francisco is currently under construction and attracting the attention of tourists and locals alike as they await the grand opening this summer.
Online PR News – 20-May-2011 –San Francisco, CA, May 20, 2011 -- Rodney Lough Jr., the world-renowned Master Landscape Photographer from Portland, Oregon, is currently designing the largest single artist gallery in the world. Sure to become a new landmark of San Francisco, the new Wilderness Collections Gallery, is under construction in the former GAP building, located on the corner of One Jefferson and Powell Streets on the Embarcadero. Slated to open this July, the gallery will solely feature the fine art photography of Rodney Lough Jr.
In addition to the new San Francisco location, Rodney Lough Jr. is the proprietor of three other fine art photography galleries in the United States – one in Las Vegas, Park City and Sausalito. Similar to his Las Vegas gallery, the new San Francisco gallery (referred to as “One Jefferson”) is being designed with the environment as top priority. The floors are made from 100% reclaimed wood from century old barns and the rest of the wood is derived from sustainable forest management programs. The use of sustainable sourced natural materials throughout the construction of this monumental gallery serves to highlight the artwork itself and symbolizes the need to preserve these beautiful locations for future generations of enjoyment.
The most notable feature of this new landmark gallery is the 30 ft. tall towering cedar trees in the atrium. Many tourists and San Francisco residents alike watched with curious eyes and mouths agape earlier this month when the giant monolithic trees were
craned in and installed into the building. It took crews a relatively short amount of time to get the massive trees in place but was quite the sight to see. The gallery’s environmental design creates the perfect natural medium to display the artist’s large- format photographs of Earth’s most beautiful and awe-inspiring landscapes. Once completed, visitors will be able to sit back, relax and take in the view, after all its like seeing the best of the best from all the National Parks at once.
