It was elaborately planned to accord best wishes to about 6500 students who are going to commence their professional working career, after completing their programmes this year 2011. A great Interaction Session of emotional exchanges of reverence and reminisces between teachers and the taught, over High Tea was also witnessed. The Junior-students contributed to memorable send-off through their rocking band performances at the Sunken Stage of the Campus. There were also souvenir stalls, where canvass arrangements were there for penning down of 'impressions' by the outgoing students.
The 3-houred ceremony began upon the arrival of the academic procession led by the Chancellor, Mr Ashok Mittal, Pro-Chancellor Ms Rashmi Mittal, Director General Er HR Singla and Senoir Deans. The Chancellor inaugurated the ceremony by lighting of the lamp. All the Deans, Heads and Co-ordinators of Faculty, Schools, Departments and other members of the teaching staff attended the ceremony. It mainly featured the great greetings by University Officials.
Applauding and inspiring the outgoing students, Mr Mittal said: "Many of you will be joining MNCs and other Top Houses to build up your career. We are always hopeful about your brilliance and success ahead which will also make your alma-mater proud of you." He added: "LPU has always been increasing Infra-structure and new resources every year. In times, University has grown tremendously. We assure this growth will continue in future too, on similar scale and pace. Alumni will always feel elated to find new projects and endeavours on regular launch at their University." He guided them to face all challenges robustly as most of the times the greatest rewards come from such undertakings. Anticipating great name and fame for them, he further said: "We always uphold and take you as our esteemed alumni, from now onwards, to lead the next generation of explorers, innovators and entrepreneurs world over."
It is illustrative that on this wonderful day, students and their teachers gathered together to celebrate the occasion to share equally "we are very glad to be with each other, to know and to accord "thank you" and "best wishes." "Our alma-mater has always committed itself to excellence in every field to ensure that the next generation of its students may meet country's future challenges" said Puneet, a graduate student. A few other remarked: "At LPU, we were regularly kept focussed on engaging and retaining in our education programmes to ensure wonderful success in a demanding and competitive workforce. We have really learnt a lot with hands-on experience which showed us how the present scenario will work in favour to us. We will ever hold aloft the flag of our University." So many other students also shared their appreciation of the experience at LPU. They remained swinging, singing and dancing to the rhythmic outcomes through the band performances. As the ceremony drew to a close, student participants and teachers were seen sharing their memorable experiences.
