The book – a collection of essays that were originally published as articles for online poker sites – covers both cash games and tournament poker, and includes a short introductory chapter on the rules of Texas Hold’em for those new to the game.

The book covers 20 different topics in total. The first ten essays discuss topics relevant to poker strategy in cash games, while the final ten are designed to help players improve their results in Texas Hold’em poker tournaments. The topics covered include Aggression, EV, The Gap Concept, The Bubble, Stealing the Blinds, and Moving All-In Preflop.

While the title suggests the book is for beginners, many of the essays assume the reader has a working knowledge of Texas Hold’em.
