Online PR News – 28-May-2011 –Butler Machinery is pleased to announce that it’s an approved National Future Farmers of America (FFA) scholarship sponsor and will, in cooperation with AGCO, Your Agriculture Company, provide five $500 scholarships for the 2011-2012 FFA scholarship year.
The scholarships are available through a new program that will provide more than 100 scholarships through more than 55 Massey Ferguson, Challenger and Gleaner dealers across the United States. Butler Machinery is very excited to participate in this outstanding new program available through AGCO. More details on the scholarships will be available through Butler Machinery, from the National FFA on www.FFA.org and from local FFA Chapter advisors beginning in October 2011 with applications due on February 15, 2012.
Butler Machinery believes the support of scholarships through the FFA will strengthen the agricultural interests young people in surrounding communities have developed through the FFA and will help them achieve their educational goals past high school.
Scholarship selection takes into consideration FFA involvement, work experience, community service, leadership skills and academics, and is based on academic records, FFA achievements, leadership and other school and community activities. Supervised agricultural experience (SAE) programs and future goals are all considered in the scholarship award.
These dealership and AGCO cooperatively funded scholarships represent a new chapter in a 65-year-old relationship between FFA, and AGCO and its heritage companies. A proud supporter of the National FFA Organization and the National FFA Collegiate Scholarship Program, AGCO and AGCO Finance sponsored 18 scholarships to outstanding FFA members in 2010-2011. The company participates in the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. In addition, many AGCO employees, dealers and customers credit FFA with helping them develop their skills and lifelong interest in agriculture.
