BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour talks to inventor Mandy Haberman

Mandy will be joined by Steve van Dulken, Woman’s Hour’s Patents expert who will advise on the practical issues of patents.

Commenting on the importance of protecting your ideas, Mandy Haberman said:

"When I invented the Anywayup Cup I knew it had great commercial potential, so I spent a lot more on intellectual property rights, registering patents in all my strategic markets - and it paid off! I had to take infringing companies to court in the UK, Europe and the USA but my patents held up.

"By protecting my ideas, I was finally able to secure my position in the market and reap the benefit from years of hard work! The Anywayup Cup technology revolutionized the nursery market and valved cups are now the standard worldwide. I would have lost everything if I had allowed people to continue infringing."

Mandy Haberman, inventor of the Anywayup Cup and Haberman Feeder, is working on a new baby bottle which is set to revolutionize the infant feeding market, and would like to talk to breast-feeding mums who have experienced difficulties with using bottles to deliver expressed breast milk (or supplements), and to mums whose bottle-fed babies experience wind and colic despite using 'anti-colic' feeders.
