iSeeCars, a leading car search site enabling consumers to search over two million cars for sale across thousands of dealer and automotive websites, has launched a new search feature to find used cars for sale by estimated monthly payment.

iSeeCars, a leading car search site enabling consumers to search over two million cars for sale across thousands of dealer and automotive websites, has launched a new search feature to find used cars for sale by estimated monthly payment.
Getting to the estimated monthly payment feature is easy. On the used car home page, consumers first enter as much information as they like to begin their used car search, including location (city, state, zip code), distance, price, for sale by (dealer, owner), make, model, body style, year, mileage, fuel type, number of seats, transmission, drive type, market segment and then click “Search Cars.”
The search results include all vehicles matching the parameters entered and each has an “Est. Monthly Payment” link beside the photo and specifics of the vehicle. When the user clicks on “Est. Monthly Payment,” they’re taken to an auto loan calculator where they can change these assumptions to calculate a monthly payment that is specific to their circumstances.
Here’s how the feature works. The estimated monthly payment initially shown is based on a few assumptions: the consumer pays the asking price, puts 20 percent down, with an interest rate of six percent for a term of 60 months. By changing amount of down payment, interest rate, term of the loan, or adding in the amount of a trade-in, consumers can see how much these adjustments alter how much their monthly payment would be for that particular vehicle.
“People generally know how much they can afford each month in a car payment and like the assurance of being able to specify how much their monthly payment is going to be,” said Jim Lee, iSeeCars’s product management lead. “We’ve incorporated a tool that gives them the ability to find what they’re looking for at the price they feel they’re able to pay.”
Narrowing a used car search this way is another refinement of a car payment calculator.
