“There is really no place online to find an integrated listing of synagogues or rabbis that provides detailed information, links, photos, YouTube videos and brochures,” Goldman explains. “Currently, synagogue listings are found in directories and sorted by location or denomination, providing little information beyond the basic contact data. Mazelmoments is the first website to address this shortcoming.”
Goldman further explains, “the mazelmoments website offers intuitive filters which sort results by location, denomination and catering options, and also provides search capability. We are helping a niche that is currently underserved online.” Mazelmoments visitors can easily sort synagogues, and narrow results to only include synagogues that meet their needs. They can learn about the amenities and facilities, read congregant and peer reviews, view a photo gallery and even link to the rabbi’s profile page.
Mazelmoments is the first website to provide couples with an intuitive resource for locating rabbis and clergy who perform interfaith and/or same-sex ceremonies. Rabbis’ profiles may include reviews, details on their background and training, links to the their website and recommended resources, and even a YouTube video featuring them. “In addition to connecting the Jewish community with their synagogues and congregational rabbis,” Goldman notes, “mazelmoments aims to help temples, many of whom are looking to increase their membership.”
Goldman’s vision for the mazelmoments website was born in the summer of 2009, when she became engaged. She quickly realized the challenges of finding helpful online resources to plan a Jewish wedding, find specialized vendors, and better understand and appreciate the unique and beautiful traditions of the Jewish culture.
