The corporate office of Solar Energy USA in Alpharetta is planning to unveil solar powered EV charging free to the public. The company, which is Georgia’s largest residential solar provider, runs off 100% solar energy.

Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are popping up around metro Atlanta including a new one planned for Alpharetta. The corporate office of Solar Energy USA is planning to unveil solar powered EV charging free to the public. The company, which is Georgia’s largest residential solar provider, runs off 100% solar energy and sells excess power back to their utility provider, Sawnee EMC, each month.
A public unveiling is planned for early December at the Solar Energy USA office off McFarland Road. The level 2 charging station being installed will fully refuel a Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, or another plug-in EV in four to eight hours.
Solar Energy USA is dedicated to educating the public by example. "The main reason Solar Energy USA is installing a charging station is to demonstrate how we can utilize solar power as an energy source to charge an electric car. We currently have about four customers with electric cars in Atlanta, and our charging station will allow them and anyone else to come recharge their vehicle while touring the warehouse and learning about our affordable solar solutions" said product salesman Howard Orchow.
