Online PR News – 09-July-2012 –Los Angeles, CA – L.A.-based hip-hop artist Gatsby (www.ListenToGatsby.com) will release The Vendetta on August 30, 2012, the rapper’s second mixtape and follow-up to 2011’s Underestimated.
Produced by M7, The Vendetta’s seventeen eclectic tracks range from the intoxicating beats of “Just Like Magic” to the Latin-infused party anthem “Keep It Moving” featuring Llaves de la Calle. The acclaimed mixtape takes listeners on a lyrical tour through Gatsby’s transition from underestimated rapper to defiant virtuoso performer on a mission to overcome all obstacles and silence his critics.
Influenced by The Neptunes, Pharell, Jay-Z, TI, Drake, and Kanye West, among other hip-hop luminaries, Gatsby’s prolific style, infectious music, and insightful lyrics have elevated the rapper to an underground phenom almost overnight. His resilience, tireless determination, strong work ethic, and raw talent have contributed to his early success and earned him entrance on stages throughout Southern California. He has performed at the Key Club in Los Angeles, The Luna Lounge in Pomona, The Kleen House in San Diego, The Kerckhoff Art Gallery at UCLA, and many other venues that have showcased Gatsby’s hypnotic brand of hip-hop.
In 2011 Gatsby joined forces with Vatican Clothing to cross-promote Gatsby’s music and the clothing line’s products. As his official sponsor, Vatican Clothing provides video production and graphic design for Gatsby’s music. Gatsby dons the increasingly popular Vatican Clothing brand on stage and in his music videos. The brand is prominently featured in the Vatican Clothing-produced music video for “Outsiders,” one of The Vendetta’s breakout hits.
Gatsby is poised to take the independent hip-hop world by storm this summer with the August 30th release of The Vendetta and a tour through clubs in Southern California, including a July 21st performance at The Airliner in Los Angeles.
One thing’s for sure: no one’s underestimating Gatsby anymore. His self-described vendetta to prove his naysayer’s wrong, vendetta to prove his hip-hop skills, and vendetta to achieve success at all costs have put other rappers on notice. As Gatsby continues his rise it’s clear that the best is yet to come.
