Online PR News – 09-July-2012 – UAE – Dr. Keith Sharp, Director, University of London International Programmes at LSE and Rachel Gibson, Institutions Liaison Officer, LSE Office for University of London International Programmes, visited the only University of London Affiliate Centre in the Middle East, Western International College-RAK last May 26 – 28, 2012.
An array of activities was scheduled for the visit that started with the University of London Open Day attended by students, parents and school teachers. It was an interactive session followed by an extensive Q&A forum starting at 2 p.m. Conal Doherty, Manager for Marketing at WINC made an introduction regarding the different programmes offered by Western International College. Dr. Sharp, delivered a presentation about the University of London International Programmes.
During the second day of the visit, Dr. Sharp & Ms Gibson visited School Principals, Career Counselors besides presenting the various programmes at high school graduates at select schools across Dubai & Sharjah, concluding the day with a live interview at one of Suno 1024 one of the premier radio stations. During the live interview Dr. Sharp and Ms Gibson answered queries from prospective students seeking inputs on their queries relating to their undergraduate study.
Culminating their visit to UAE, on 28th of May, Dr. Sharp & Ms. Gibson accompanied by the Western International College-Director, Mr. Raj Nambiar, had an audience with the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi.
Western International College (WINC) provides students with an opportunity to study towards a coveted University of London undergraduate degree in Economics, Management, Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems & other Social Science subjects. A special feature of the Affiliate Centre is that WINC has Diploma Teaching Status. This enables students to study towards a Diploma in Economics or Diploma in Social Science without the need to complete either the GCE 'A' Levels or its equivalent qualifications first.
