Swami Avdeshanand Giri, Chief of celebrated Junapeeth, and guiding
spirit of Juna Akhada, to addressed the Rotary Club of Chandigarh on
“Spirituality and Stress Management" here oday.
According to Rotary Club President Vivek Gupta, the theme of Rotary
this year is "Peace through Service" and one can think of peace in the
world and our surroundings only when we are spiritually enlightened,
stress-free and at peace with ourselves. Swami ji's discourse thus
shows the way to inner peace, he added.
An enlightened Acharya and master of Vedanta, Swami ji heads millions
of saints, and is credited to have initiated more than hundred
thousands of them. He initiated the ‘Shivganga’ project, besides
running several community service projects like water harvesting,
cultivation of barren land, supplying drinking water, establishing
hospitals, schools, and centres for physically challenged.
Swami ji has written several books and was conferred the degree of
D.Litt, by Vikram University, Ujjain for his extraordinary work in
Hindi Literature.
Harihar Ashram in Kankhal, Haridwar is his main ashram and seat of Acharya.
As the Acharya Mahamandleshwar of the Akhada, Swamiji is incharge of
various Ashrams situated at Haridwar, Varansi and Baroda.
