On the one hand it regaled the music lovers immensely but disappointed them a wee bit as a severe thunderstorm shut down Lollapalooza for nearly three hours on Saturday. Nevertheless it was a spectacular event for music lovers worldwide.
As an annual music festival Lollapalooza features alternative rock, punk rock, heavy metal and hip hop bands and dance performances. It was conceived by singer Perry Farrell Lollapalooza ran in 1991 and it into its current format in 2005 as a weekend destination festival in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois.
The Lollapalooza 2012 had a memorable dose of heavy rock — Black Sabbath, Red , Jack White, Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Keys. The first day (03 August) was immensely memorable as it lived up to its hype.
Thousands thronged the Grant Park to check out Bassnectar, The Black Keys, and Black Sabbath in the grand musical fest.
Die Antwoord entertained the crowd fabulously while the Afghan Whigs were not behind. So did the Head and The Heart. Soon the Electronic Dance Music took the center stage. The outstanding performances by Porter Robinson and NERO lit up the first day in every sense. Over the Red Bull stage, The Black Keys played a set of new and old favorites.
Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney made it memorable with a handful of songs. Headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers delivered a set that made the crowd dancing and singing. Anthony Kiedis and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer’s energy was hailed by the crowd as infectious.
Frank Ocean opened with an acoustic rendition of Sade’s “By Your Side,” and concluded with “Pyramids”. He filled the time with tracks of the recent Channel Orange.
Music lovers praised the annual festival in Grant Park. Lollapalooza clearly excited all.
Ultimately, Lollapalooza Chicago 2012 will go down in history for a wide range of headliners, including the Black Keys, Black Sabbath, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack White and Florence and the Machine, among others.
The cheer received by the Red Hot Chili Peppers was stupendous. The EDM lineup collected maximum crowds at the Perry's stage.

Lollapalooza is an amazing platform for artists to grow and be famous.
