Online PR News – 01-September-2012 –Pierson Requirements Group is offering an Agile Requirements Gathering and Iteration Planning seminar from September 13-14. The two session workshop will teach participants the specific skill sets needed to successfully participate in Agile Projects.
The Agile Requirements Gathering seminar provides training in requirements gathering and collaboration techniques that are necessary for Agile Projects, including user stories, use cases and use case slices. These concepts, among others, are the fundamental building blocks of Agile Projects. Participants will gain a strong understanding of these projects, which include creating a backlog for prioritizing, defining the iterations and conducting Scrum meetings. After the two-day workshop, participants will have the necessary foundation for understanding the components of agile requirements, which is needed for scoping, requirements gathering and iteration planning.
The virtual, instructor-led course starts off with Session I, where Agile Concepts and Fundamentals are explained in detail. Participants learn about agile requirements and complete an exercise that focuses on conducting a Scrum meeting using the newly learned information. The workshop continues with the best practices for agile requirements, with topics like collaboration techniques, timeboxing and communication serving as the main components. The workshop wraps up with a discussion on project vision and scope as well as building use case diagrams.
Session II of the workshop delves deeper into Agile Projects and prepares participants for high level requirements and iteration planning. A number of exercises are included to help students carry out the new skill set. Conducting an agile requirements workshop, defining an iteration and writing non-functional requirements are practiced in detail. The seminar wraps up with a strong conclusion, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and finalize discussions.
