Online PR News – 27-September-2012 –Chelsea’s Epilepsy Walk is an annual event that happens in September. This year, the walk spread its bases and occurred in various locations around the USA on September 23. These included the home location in Colorado as well as Virginia, Missouri and Kansas. In addition to these allocated locations, many walkers organized their own on a virtual basis.
Chelsea’s Epilepsy Walk is organized by the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation and is an event to raise awareness for SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). Chelsea Hutchison, in whose honor the 501(c)3 foundation was created, died at the age of 16 years due to SUDEP.
Today the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation is very active in awareness and also providing companion dogs and monitors to prevent this happening to others.
TG Bears created a handmade teddy bear specifically for the Chelsea’s Walk of 2012. One Chelsea Bear was raffled at the Colorado event and was able to raise in excess of $200. These bears are also for sale and with the sale of every 2 bears, a child hospitalized for an epilepsy related procedure is sent a handmade teddy bear through the TG Bear to a Child with Epilepsy Support Group – the same being a collaboration between TG Bears and Angels4Epilepsy. Visit the TG Bears Facebook Album to see recipients of bears through this program.
