The series began during Oakland Loves Its Sports Teams week in September 2012 with an introductory post on Michael's Favourite Spots in Oakland.
There will be more in-depth posts on each one of these spots in the week that follow. Posts published so far include Lake Merritt and the Fox Oakland Theatre.
The Paramount, Old Oakland, the Oakland Museum, Jack London Square, Woodminster Amphitheatre, Claremont Hotel, Mountain View Cemetery, the Oakland Zoo, and Skyline Boulevard will follow.
Michael has also done posts on the Top 10 Oakland Raiders Sports Bars, Where to Taste the Real Oakland, and Top Nine Hotels for Raiders fans to Stay at in the East Bay.
“I would really like to see more fans arriving a day or two early to enjoy all that Oakland and the East Bay have to offer,” Michael says. “Oakland is, after all, the capital of the Raider Nation. The Raiders have an international fan base. I would really lilke to see more Raiders fans connecting with the city.”
