In the 1990s, Scott covered the police beat as a newspaper reporter while Gauthier worked as an incident commander at crime scenes.

Now, they're appearing together with their respective books at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Barnes & Noble - Mira Mesa in San Diego. After their presentation, Scott, a native San Diegan, will sign her latest true crime book, The Millionaire's Wife, about business mogul George Kogan's hit-for-hire murder and his wife, Barbara, who hired the hitman. Gauthier is signing her memoir, Bright Lights, Dark Places, about her varied experiences as one of the first female patrol officers working the streets of Las Vegas.

Join them for their unique perspectives on the world of crime, from Gauthier collaring Chicago mobster Herbie Blitzstein to Scott covering unfolding events in the fatal shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur.
