Online PR News – 19-February-2013 –Fascinators First (http://www.fascinatorsfirst.com) will have its couture, Gatsby-inspiredhair fascinators included in The Artisan Group's coveted swag bags, which will be presented to select members of the press attending GBK’s Luxury Gift Lounge in Honor of the 2013 Academy Awards Nominees and Presenters. The gift lounge takes place February 22-23, 2013 at an exclusive location in Beverly Hills, California.
For the 2013 Oscars swag bags, the Redmond, Washington-based company has created 10 very special hair fascinators. The pieces showcase colorful feathers, handcrafted fabric rosettes and silk flowers. These couture fascinators also incorporate elements of early 20th century style such as rhinestones and vintage jewelry pieces.
“These Great Gatsby-inspired couture hair fascinators are a perfect homage to the 2013 Oscars.”
"The popular television show Downton Abbey and the new Great Gatsby movie seem to have sparked a craze for all things 1920s,” noted Rita Gruzman, designer/owner, Fascinators First. “So the Academy Awards gifting was the perfect time to indulge my passion for that period in fashion. I also found great inspiration in my collection of vintage and antique costume jewelry, vintage hats and bonnets.”
According to Gruzman, fascinators are more popular than ever, thanks in part to Kate Middleton and the 2011 Royal Wedding. The fact that they can be styled around a woman’s hair and will never flatten a carefully done up-do contributes to their appeal and Gruzman also believes these whimsical hats reflect the notion that, “every ‘girl’ wants to be a princess sometimes.”
Gruzman creates her one-of-a-kind fascinators from scratch for all occasions, from weddings to garden parties, and in different styles and colors, taking the time to learn about her customers’ specific needs before recommending or creating a piece.
Gruzman began designing and making fascinators in 2011 and has sold pieces to customers across the United States and around the world, including Chile, Australia and Great Britain. In addition to participating in the 2013 Academy Awards Gift Lounge, Gruzman has gifted Amy Poehler and Sarah Jessica Parker.
