Online PR News – 22-February-2013 –Denver, CO - “Botox is not just for wrinkles,” says Denver plastic surgeon Dr. Michael McCracken. “Areas of the face like the upper eyelids, eyebrows and corners of the mouth can be subtly but noticeably re-contoured with strategically placed Botox injections. We can bring the brows up a bit or slightly elevate the corners of the mouth to accentuate a woman’s feminine facial features,” he says.
"A ‘Botox brow lift’ is done by placing injections to selectively weaken muscles, which changes the dynamic balance among facial muscles which are pulling in different directions," says Dr. McCracken. "Strategically placed injections create a lifting effect by relaxing the muscles that pull down on the eyebrows. With these muscles weakened, the brow lifts slightly, raising the ends of the eyebrows into a more pleasing arch and opening the eyes.
“By combining injectables such as Botox and Restylane we can add volume and lift to certain facial areas without the downtime required by cosmetic surgery,” says Dr. McCracken. “As people age, there is a gradual loss of volume in the cheeks and mid-face, with volume shifting into the lower cheeks and jowls. This change in facial contours results in deflated cheeks with a fuller lower face and jowls. Non-surgical facial reshaping can be used to address these concerns.”
Dr. McCracken is performing a new treatment for reducing or eliminating the appearance of under-eye bags and for adding volume to the cheeks. He uses a "cannula", which is a thin tube to precisely place Restylane under the eyes or in the cheeks to add volume. “This eliminates the need for multiple needle injections so bruising, which is common with these treatments is reduced or eliminated. The person can go right back to regular activities, which is ideal for a celebrity who will be making a public apperance or for anyone with a busy schedule” says Dr. McCracken.
“Regardless of a person’s age, these are some of the most popular cosmetic treatments that can achieve natural - looking results with a minimum of downtime,” says Dr. McCracken.
