Then fasten your seatbelt for the dramatic courtroom trials that no one predicted, and the shocking ending that no one expected--not even the Judge.
Sherrie Lueder was born on November 13, 1951 in Tracy, Minnesota and christened Sherrie Rae Taarud. She would be the second oldest of four siblings. When she was a little girl, the family moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa. Several years later, she married a lifelong resident of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, where they chose to settle and raise their four children.
Lueder has always been intrigued with true crime stories and investigative research. Her grandfather was a US Marshal for twenty-five years and her stepfather was a Chief of Police. She loved spending her summers near the water and enjoyed long days of lounging on the beach reading mystery novels and writing poetry. One of her poems "A Tribute to Mom" was published in a local newspaper (The Lake Park News, December 29, 1979), and later in Eddie-Lou Cole's “Anthology of Great Poems.”
Her first book "HE KILLED OUR JANNY": A Family's Search for the Truth [1984 Janyce Hansen Cold Case, Aurora, Colorado] was self-published and released on September 21, 2011. Literary agents and editors claimed the research was impeccable. Within three months of its release, the book won two awards, Top 30 and Top 10 True Crime Book Awards 2011. Within days, "HE KILLED OUR JANNY" went on to become one of Amazon's Top 100 Best Sellers in two categories (1) True Crime Murder/Mayhem and (2) Family Relationships/Dysfunctional Relationships. In April 2012, it was considered for the 21st Annual Colorado Book Awards. In January 2013, the book won The People’s Book Awards, “Kindle Winner” and “Hall of Fame”. Today it is an Amazon international bestseller.
Lueder and her Literary Team, sisters Kim Hansen and Dawn Taarud-Martinez, plan to continue digging into sensational cases, pulling all the evidence together, doing their best to answer all the questions, while keeping an open mind. They are currently working on their third book project “You’ll Never Get a Cent” the memoir of Carrie Shubert, a psychic/medium/clairvoyant. Lueder is co-authoring the book with Shubert. Look for its release later this year.
