Online PR News – 19-August-2013 – Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles County Fair will have its traditional $1 admission for opening weekend, but only for limited hours.
The offer is good 3-6 p.m. on opening day, Aug. 30, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 31-Sept. 2.
Admission after 6 p.m. on Aug. 30 is $12, and admission after 1 p.m. for the rest of the weekend is $19.
The fair is usually closed Mondays and Tuesdays, but will be open for Labor Day, Sept. 2.

Farmer Boys will be a presence at the Los Angeles County Fair, which runs Aug. 30 through Sept. 29 in Pomona.

The Riverside-based chain, is sponsoring “Wild Wednesdays” and will be giving out vouchers for $25 for admission and unlimited rides at participating restaurants, according to a press release. Vouchers will be good on Sept. 4, 11, 18 and 25.

The Scarecrow, Farmer Boy’s new mascot, will be on display in an exhibit called Farmer Boys’ Burger Garden, where “kids of all ages can see how farm fresh vegetables grow.”

Farmer Boys red truck will be in five of the fair’s Community Day Parades, including the opening day parade at 5 p.m. The Scarecrow will be riding shotgun and giving away T-shirts, according to the press release.

During the fair’s run, Farmer Boys will be serving a “slimmed down” version of its menu at a concession stand in Expo Hall 4. It will include such signature items as burgers, fried zucchini and onion ring, said Sue Shindle, Farmer Boys’ marketing manager.The voucher promotion will begin on opening day, Aug. 30, she said.

That day, the city’s residents pay $5 for admission and get to take part in events and festivities that honor Glendora, including a business expo, a parade, high school marching band competition, Community Hero awards ceremony and evening entertainment.
