SASH Senior Home Sale Services, founded in Seattle, began hosting a networking event called Coffee Time in 2006 for the local elder care community. The 400th Coffee Time was celebrated recently at SASH’s corporate offices with a packed crowd of elder care professionals:

Online PR News – 28-September-2013 –Rebecca Bomann founded SASH Senior Home Sale Services in 2005 to assist seniors and their families through their home sales. Even then she knew that building a network of elder care professionals would be essential; each senior client’s needs are complex and unique and no one professional can meet all of them with a single service.
Back in 2005, networking events in the greater Seattle area offered little opportunity for extensive conversation between elder care providers. In Ms. Bomann’s opinion, that was a necessary element to building the trust required to refer senior clients to other providers. When recommending services to a senior client, Ms. Bomann needed to know each elder care provider’s philosophy of care, values, and integrity before recommending their services to a vulnerable senior client.
SASH’s Coffee Time events were created by Ms. Bomann in response to this need: networking events for elder care professionals that provided the opportunity to build trusting relationships over coffee and conversation. In a local café or restaurant, providers gather for ninety minutes or more to get to know one another, share resources and ideas, brainstorm challenges, and build teamwork in caring for seniors.
Coffee Time has no guest speakers, no RSVPs, no membership costs, and no formal agenda - just conversation with relevant, timely content. Seven years later, SASH hosted its 400th Coffee Time; a festive, coffee-themed party at SASH’s corporate offices attended by over 100 elder care providers. In a brief speech, Ms. Bomann recalled the first few Coffee Times and the main question on her mind at that time: Would anybody attend? Four hundred events later, the success of this grass-roots collaboration among Puget Sound elder care professionals is undeniable, and has become an anticipated event in the community.
"Coffee Time has become almost a family affair," said John Harding, Reverse Mortgage Specialist for Axia Home Loans. "By attending Coffee Time events regularly, you can network and refer business to each other. More importantly, you really get to understand the quality of people involved in this industry. When I have a client that needs services I don’t provide, I know I can refer them to somebody in the SASH Coffee Time Family that I know and trust."

During the challenging years following the economic crash, Coffee Time became a steady place of gathering and a regular event that kept elder care providers connected and supported. "We have heard so many incredible stories that have come from a Coffee Time connection," said Ms. Bomann. "These include jobs found, helping one another with challenging client situations, and providing inspiration and encouragement in the important work that we do."
Joni Holgate, Business Development Manager for Family Resource Home Care said, "I have been able to do some great networking by attending Coffee Time, and developed many excellent contacts within our industry. But these events really go beyond business for me. By attending Coffee Time I have made genuine friendships, and of course a huge level of trust goes with that."
SASH’s home sale services are growing to meet the needs of the burgeoning senior population, and Ms. Bomann plans to provide her company’s services to senior homeowners nationwide. "As SASH grows, so will Coffee Time," Ms. Bomann said. "We can never overlook the importance of trust in professional relationships, especially those that involve vulnerable seniors. Coffee Time allows that trust to be built the old-fashioned way: Not by Facebook “likes” or digital referral systems, but by engaging one another in conversation over a hot cup of coffee."
Since 2006, SASH has provided customized home sale services to seniors and their families, earning an A+ Rating with the BBB. Visit our website at sashservices.com or call 1-888-400-SASH (7274) for more information.
