AAA Appliance Service Center is sponsoring their 3rd annual food drive October 1-November 14. The company specializes in appliance repair, including refrigerator and oven repair, as well as dishwashers, microwaves, washers and dryers.
Online PR News – 21-October-2013 –AAA Appliance Service Center has a goal in mind. The commercial and residential appliance repair company is sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Chicago Food Depository. This year the company hopes to donate 500 lbs. of food to the organization with a little help from their customers.
Anyone who donates 3 cans or more of food to the drive between October 1 and November 14 will receive a $10 credit on any appliance repair service performed by AAA Appliance Service Center. The company hopes its customers will be in the giving spirit this fall to help stock the Depository's pantries in time for winter and the upcoming holidays.
“Although there is a need for non-perishable food items all year long, holiday baking is at the front of our customers minds at this time of year and we end up getting a lot of interest and customer support for our food drive because of this.”
"This is our 3rd year doing the food drive and it's always been a huge success. We hold the drive before Thanksgiving every year to help the Chicagoland Food Depository have a little extra around the holidays. We are hoping to hit the 500 lb. mark this year and just know our customers will get behind us and help us get there. We always get a lot of support from our customers who appreciate how easy it is to donate through AAA Appliance Center," noted Catie Bloom, Director of Operations for AAA Appliance Service Center (www.aaaasc.com).
To donate, customers can drop off their non-perishable food contributions at the company's Park Ridge offices located at 416 Higgins Road, Suite B, Park Ridge, IL 60068 or give their donation to a service technician during a service call. Customers should mention that they intend to donate when they set up their appointment to receive their $10 credit.
Bloom noted that mid-fall is the perfect time for a food drive because that's when AAA Appliance Center starts getting calls from customers for oven repair, oven calibration, dishwasher repair or refrigerator tune-ups to ensure the appliances are operating properly in time for the holidays.
"Although there is a need for non-perishable food items all year long, holiday baking is at the front of our customers minds at this time of year and we end up getting a lot of interest and customer support for our food drive because of this," said Bloom.
