Centro de Derecho Ambiental y de los Recursos Naturales- Ann Marie Puig to donate towards installation of solar panels on thousands of low-income homes in San Jose, Costa Rica
Online PR News – 02-May-2014 – San Jose, Costa Rica – There is no dearth of philanthropists in the world and neither is there a dearth of money. The only point of disconnect is that those who are wealthy might not have a heart that is kind enough and a will that is strong enough to give. But Ann Marie Puig is a fresh contrast to this set.
She is a born “giver” who very candidly says that she has not been made rich so that she can indulge herself and spoil her family. She feels that all the abundance that has been showered on her is a blessing that should be generously and unfalteringly given away.
Ann Marie Puig is no stranger to the philanthropy space. She is a billionaire and a philanthropist who staunchly believes that goodness is all about character and it’s also about kindness, moral courage, generosity, integrity and honesty.
She has but one objective and she works towards it consistently and ceaselessly- the betterment of the Costa Rican people is always at the back of her mind and at the fore of her actions. She is totally committed to any cause she takes up and over the years thousands of people have benefited from her selflessness and generosity. She believes that with every little good deed that she does, she changes a life and betters the world even as she betters herself.
“Freeing oneself from greed is about delinking lofty words from kind deeds.”- Ann Marie Puig”
Light and Insight
Costa Rica is a country with plenty of sunshine and in her own insightful way she thought that this natural resource could be put to much more good use than just drying tomatoes and getting a tan. And the germ of an idea was planted in her head. And once that idea took root there was no looking back. Today, Ann Marie Puig is working very closely with the Centro de Derecho Ambiental y de los Recursos Naturales (CEDARENA) towards installation of solar panels on thousands of low-income homes.
Though the state is propagating the use of sunlight for power generation the task is not an easy one. This is because the cost of solar power equipment is prohibitively expensive and out of the reach of anyone who is in the low income group. But it is one of the quickest and most reliable methods of gaining independence from the low-quality grid supply and very high electric bills.
The minute Ann Marie Puig thought about this idea she knew that she was on the right path. Solar Power can light the homes of these underserved people, power their tools and deliver basics like water. The minute all these pieces started coming together she knew that the bigger picture had an undeniable sheen and that made her more resolute.
Today, next-gen solar power technology is available and Ann Marie Puig once more raises the bar in being an indomitable philanthropic force. She looks upon the sun rising and says to herself- Isn’t this the perfect opportunity to brighten someone’s life?
Headquartered in San Jose, Costa Rica, CEDARENA is a non-profit and apolitical organization. Its goal is to seek environmental and social alternatives that will change the county for the better.
