This rising seventh grader needs your help to fund her “S&K: The Observations of Obstreperous Animals Cover” Kickstarter campaign.
Online PR News – 22-May-2014 – Exton, PA – Felicia Maziarz, a ten-year-old student with the goal of publishing the second book in her “Stanley and Katrina” series by September, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a professional cover for her second book, “The Observations of Obstreperous Animals.” She attends Pennsylvania Area Leadership Charter School’s (PALCS) University Scholars Program, and recently was interviewed on HuffPost Live's “Tell Me Why” program.
Felicia’s first book, “The Perpetual Papers of the Pack of Pets”, is about a dog and a cat who have lived in the same house for about three years but never bothered to learn each other’s name. They exchange letters to build their acquaintanceship. The diva kitty, Katrina, will have none of Stanley’s antics, and most certainly will not stand for him eating her food. The only reasonable solution is to take him to Kitty Court.
“The Perpetual Papers of the Pack of Pets” has received rave reviews from readers of all ages, and is in the top 20 of Best Rated Kindle Children’s Pet Books.
The first draft of Felicia’s second book, “The Observations of Obstreperous Animals,” was written during NaNoWriMo 2013, and is a continuation of Stanley and Katrina’s adventures. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It is a writing event in the month of November where participants are challenged to write an entire novel in just 30 days. While adult NaNoWriMo participants must reach a goal of 50,000 words, Felicia was part of the Young Writers Program (YWP) where participants are able to set their own challenging word-count goals.
Felicia is now in the process of editing and revising that first draft. She has penciled in a fabulous designer for the cover of “The Observations of Obstreperous Animals,” and the professionally designed book cover is where she needs your help. This Kickstarter project will gather supporters who wish to partner with Felicia in order to see her book cover come to life. Kickstarter’s crowdfunding program has a strict “all-or-nothing” rule: if a project’s backing does not reach its goal, the project receives none of its promised funding. Felicia’s project’s goal is to raise $600 in pledges by June 12, 2014.
The great news is that if you choose to help Felicia reach her goal, by backing her project, you have the opportunity to receive rewards at various levels. Stop by Felicia’s Kickstarter page to view her project video, or for more information. Follow her characters on Twitter (@StanleyNKatrina) and Facebook (StanleyNKatrina) for updates on this project, and consider supporting her. Donating as little as $1 assists her project in coming to life.
