Online PR News – 30-July-2014 – Houston, Texas – The Science of Identity Foundation announced the launch of the complete video series called “The Harmony of Yoga” released free to air on YouTube.
The six part series on the Health, Harmony and Peace of Yoga was recorded live and focuses on a logical, in-depth analysis of the ancient philosophy underpinning the yoga system. The popularity of yoga, primarily hatha yoga, has swept the world in recent times. It’s almost impossible to find a place in the world where people have not heard of or are practicing yoga. In fact, in America especially, yoga has become mainstream with over 20 million Americans now practicing yoga on a regular basis.
“The true harmony and art of yoga is achievable for all whether living in town or country.”
Yet despite the undeniable growth and popularity of yoga, many in the west are unaware of the deep and meaningful philosophy that forms the foundation for the entire yoga system. The Harmony of Yoga speaks from the authority of the original yogic texts and begins by asking the primal question of the Vedas—Who Am I? This is described as being the most important question that must be asked in order to live a fulfilled and meaningful life. Furthermore, as the lecturer explains, yoga is not just a philosophy, yoga is about living the philosophy, a system of practices also known as a yoga lifestyle.
With an engaging and easy to understand delivery, the lecturer explains that yoga is ultimately a pursuit of harmony. The very word “yoga” means harmonious union and the goal of yoga is to achieve a harmonious relationship between our selves, our body and mind, and other individuals, as well as the natural world and the Supreme Soul.
The yoga texts teach how it is possible to live a life of complete harmony. One in which a person is united with a system of physical health, united with a system of mental health, united with a system of environmental health, united with a system of relationship health, and most important, united with the system of true spiritual health.
That’s the yoga system. Furthermore, it is not required that yogis give up their families, careers and social life and become mountain hermits to attain the goal of yoga. After all, if everyone moved to the mountains, the mountains would become crowded! The true harmony and art of yoga is achievable for all whether living in town or country.
