AAMCN Elects Two New Members to the Board of Directors
Online PR News – 06-December-2010 – – Richmond, VA - December 6, 2010: The American Association of Managed Care Nurses (AAMCN) announces the appointment of Jan Gilbert, MSN, BSN, CMCN and Cheryl Slagle, RN, CMCN, CCM, CCP to the Board of Directors. Ms. Gilbert will assume her directorship effective January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2013, while Ms. Slagle has already assumed her position effective through December 31, 2011.
Ms. Gilbert, a past member of the AAMCN Board of Directors, is presently the Director of Enterprise Transplant and Central Region NICU/Maternity services for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Both departments encompass the use of utilization management and case management. She has been at Anthem for 10 years. Previous to her experience at Anthem, Ms Gilbert was a critical care RN for 22 years in various hospitals in the Cincinnati area. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms Gilbert is an active association member, involved in the Textbook Update Committee and acting as a Mentor in the Leadership Institute’s Mentoring Program.
Ms. Slagle is currently the Vice President, Health Services at CareSource Management Group, servicing the needs of members in Michigan and Ohio. CareSource, a Medicaid Managed Care Company, is an innovative national leader in the management of quality public-sector health-care programs. Established in 1989, the company has experienced significant growth since its inception and is now the fourth largest Medicaid Managed Care Company in the nation. In addition to being a leader within her organization, Ms. Slagle is an active association member, serving as the Director of the Leadership Institute, contributing to the quarterly newsletter, being the recipient of the 2009 Managed Care Nurse Leader of the Year award, presenting at AAMCN educational activities and promoting the value of membership and certification in Managed Care Nursing to her entire staff by incorporating certification within the career ladder.
