Psychological Horror Flick to be Available for Free on Facebook for One Week on Christmas Day

Online PR News – 16-December-2010 –Los Angeles, CA - The Symphony is a new full-length horror movie that will debut on Facebook on Christmas Day, where it will be made available for free for one week. The movie is about a self-mutilating musician named Ray who is slowly killing himself to make an album that he sees as his legacy. Indeed, his self-mutilation is the album. His consuming psychological mania is akin to that of Requiem for a Dream (2000) or the twisting temptations on display in the movie Pi (1998).

Due to its small budget and the requirements of the movie, the main actor had to do some cutting of himself, as the production could not afford a special effects make-up person for the duration of the film shoot. Ray, the main character, is doomed to go down as an unknown. However, as the movie’s promotion footage proclaims: “You'll never know Ray's name. You'll know his desire: he's a self-mutilating musician who is slowly killing himself to make an album. Why? Because he sees it as his legacy to the world. As blood drips down his stomach he questions if a legacy is worth his life. As blood drips, he cuts himself more and more... ‘Death is worth the world.’”

In the movie, Ray, a musician, uses sound recordings of his own body. Software used includes Pro Tools, GarageBand, Cubase, Steinberg, and Ableton. These are used to great effect as Ray makes the music in the movie and then within the movie (to see what is meant by this, watch the movie to find out). The Symphony’s sound designer and composer is Rob Simon, who worked on Iron Man (2008), Prison Break (2005), and The Wolfman (2010). Rob Simon used the same software instruments to produce the movie’s score.

The Symphony will be released for free on Facebook, on Christmas Day, and will be available to viewers free for one week only. The Symphony is 90 minutes in length.
