Vermont Eco Furniture Company Launches Sustainable Bedroom Furniture Line to Help Save The Tiger

Where does your wood furniture come from: Legal and sustainably managed American forests or illegally logged and rapidly disappearing tropical rainforests? Either way, your furniture choice affects the survival of tigers and other endangered species.

Online PR News – 23-March-2011 – – Vermont Woods Studios, a high end eco furniture company in Vermont is launching a new Contemporary Craftsman Furniture Collection in support of the worldwide campaign to save critically endangered tigers.

"How you furnish your home affects my home" is the tagline beneath a stunning image of a 600 pound Siberian tiger, cleverly photo-shopped into the latest handcrafted bedroom furniture collection from the Vermont furniture maker.

"The tiger's rainforest habitat is being destroyed at an alarming rate, due in part to corrupt timber conglomerates supplying illegally harvested lumber to the wood furniture industry," notes co-owner Peggy Farabaugh. "Up to 90% of the wood furniture for sale in our country is made of wood that is clear cut from ecologically sensitive areas including the tiger's habitat."

According to Farabaugh furniture buyers can help save the tiger by avoiding the purchase of imported wood furniture and buying American made furniture instead. "America has some of the world's best quality hardwoods and our US forest conservation laws are working to keep it that way. In Vermont our forests are growing at a rate that is faster than the harvest rate-- certainly an important part of the definition of sustainability."

The high end Contemporary Craftsman Furniture Collection has a distinct Arts and Crafts style with clean lines and gentle curves. Beds, dressers, chests, armoires and night stands can be customized online in solid natural cherry wood, natural walnut wood or a two-tone combination of the woods. Each piece of Vermont Woods Studios furniture is hand made to order in Vermont so additional types of customization are also available.
