Arizona's Arrowhead Grill Hosts Special Wine Dinner with Napa’s Sequoia Grove

West Valley Restaurant Offers Four-Course Dinner, Five Special Sequoia Grove Vintages on July 15 with Michael Trujillo of Napa Valley’s Sequoia Grove highlighting some of the winery’s select vintages including a 2007 Cambium.

Online PR News – 10-July-2011 – – Glendale, AZ, July 07, 2011 -- Arrowhead Grill is holding a special wine dinner on July 15 with Michael Trujillo of Napa Valley’s Sequoia Grove, highlighting some of the winery’s select vintages including a 2007 Cambium.

Trujillo serves as director of winemaking and president of Sequoia Grove and has hand selected five Sequoia Grove wines for the dinner, which costs $80 per person. The Sequoia Grove vintages will include a Domaine Carneros Rose for the opening reception with Trujillo which begins at 8 p.m.

“We’re excited to offer an evening with Mike and Sequoia Grove for our Arrowhead Grill patrons,” said Chef Charles Wade Schwerd, owner of Arrowhead Grill. “The wines he’s hand selected are some of the finest – and exclusive – that Sequoia Grove offers.”

For the first course, a Sequoia Grove Sauvignon Blanc will be served with Chef Charles’ seafood salad, which consists of shrimp, scallops, calamari, mussels, kalamata olives, crab, lobster and octopus.

The Arrowhead Grill second course of roasted beet salad (red and yellow roasted beets, herd goat cheese and bitter greens with flower garnish) will be served with a Sequoia Grove 2009 Carneros Chardonnay.

The third course finds a 2008 Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a surf and turf arctic char with risotto, consisting of applewood bacon wrapped arctic char, an heirloom tomato salad and risotto.

Finally, an Arrowhead Grill pork prime rib eye with Peruvian mashed potatoes with pork gravy will be served with a single vineyard 2007 Sequoia Grove Cambium. According to Sequoia Grove, the Cambium is a proprietary blend of red Bordeaux varieties hand selected from the finest wine lots in the cellar.

“Then we’ll top it all off with our special sugar and spice doughnuts,” Schwerd said. “It will definitely be a special night for Arrowhead Grill patrons.”
