Felix Education Apps to Donate Percentage of Proceeds of App Sales

Online PR News – 19-September-2011 – – Special Olympics Massachusetts, a leader in providing healthy lifestyles through sports and healthcare-related programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities, is announcing a new program in partnership with Felix Education Apps.

Felix is now marketing a series of educational Apps for the iPad and iPhone that are geared toward helping individuals with learning challenges as well as children ages 2-4 years old. These apps can be found on the iTunes Store and help teach lessons in a number of educational disciplines. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics Massachusetts.

Some of the Apps being offered include:

Virtually every school system in the world is exploring the use and integration of educational apps on tablets both in and out of the classroom whether for preschool children and upper grades and of course individuals with learning challenges.

Word Fun. This app is designed to help children learn more than 100 common words they encounter in everyday life. It was developed to stimulate the language development of kids between the ages of 2-4 and those with learning challenges.

Memory Fun. This app is about finding two cards that match. Words are learned by seeing and hearing the word pronounced in this fun setting.

Counting Fun is designed to help kids and individuals with learning challenges by giving them the tools to count from 1-10. Its got great animation and sounds to encourage repetition. All these Apps use fun, frequency, focus and feedback to achieve their goals. A world-renowned researcher in Down syndrome has been instrumental in developing these apps with more to come.

It's safe to say that in just one short year virtually every school system in the world is exploring the use and integration of educational apps on tablets both in and out of the classroom whether for preschool children and upper grades and of course individuals with learning challenges, states Rikk Larsen, the US rep for Felix Education Apps. The reason? There is overwhelming proof that all children learn effectively and quickly using this new technology.
