Flotender Introduces Greywater Recycling System For Mainstream Consumers

Flotender has unveiled a full line of greywater recycling kits. The Flotender Greywater Recycling System uses a greywater filter to convert water from a home’s shower, bath, and/or washing machine into useable water for landscape irrigation. This greywater system provides a second use of water and allows consumers the ability to reduce residential water usage without significantly altering their everyday routine.

That’s a big number that can be cut down by recycling water we are already using.

Online PR News – 22-January-2010 – – Flotender, a manufacturer of water conservation products has unveiled a full line of greywater recycling kits. The Flotender Greywater Recycling System converts greywater from a home’s shower, bath, and/or washing machine into useable water for landscape irrigation. The fully automated system comes pre-assembled and uses drip irrigation to efficiently deliver the water to the landscape.

Greywater recycling is not a new idea; however, a retail product focused specifically on landscape irrigation is an innovative approach. Over-consumption, poor individual management, and increased urban populations have contributed to drought conditions across the nation, which have given way to several states approving greywater for irrigation.

“A study by the U.S. Geological Survey shows the national average of household water used for landscape irrigation is 32%”, said Chris Holt a spokesman for Flotender. “That’s a big number that can be cut down by recycling water we are already using.”

With Flotender, greywater from the house enters the system and is automatically filtered, pressurized, and pumped out to your plants using drip irrigation. The system filters all water through a 150-mesh particle filter basket. A unique sealing gasket allows the filter basket to be easily removed for cleaning without compromising the Flotender System, and a self-regulating spray system helps maintain an unobstructed flow through the basket, and maximizes time between maintenance. When most of the water has been pumped out, the system automatically turns off.

Holt went on to say, “What we have seen from the market is that while many consumers want to be water conscious, they don’t want to drastically change their lifestyle. The Flotender system allows our customers the ability to make a significant impact without significantly altering their everyday routine.”
