The award is given each year by SDCBA to a new lawyer who has demonstrated a significant commitment to serving the legal community via legal education, mentoring or community service efforts.

She is fluent in Spanish and works closely with the firm’s Hispanic clientele.

A longtime community contributor, Pride is involved with the Center for Community Solutions, which assists victims of sexual assault and relationship violence. She has undergone sexual assault and domestic violence training so she can assist at the organization’s legal clinic with civil matters and provide legal consultation on a pro bono basis. Other projects in which she has been involved include helping to rebuild homes devastated by Hurricane Katrina with fellow members of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), working with Wills for Heroes to draft wills for Police Officers and coaching teens at Helix High School for a mock trial.

In addition, she is treasurer of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the American Association for Justice. She participates in the AAJ group’s annual community outreach programs and also is a board member and co-chair of the women’s caucus of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. Additionally, she was involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters and speaks annually to University of San Diego law students about the importance of getting involved in the community.

She received her J.D. from USD School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UC Irvine and worked at Girardi and Keese in Los Angeles prior to joining Casey Gerry as a law clerk in 2006.
