Lake Geneva Angels to Host Silent Auction on May 19 to Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Awareness

On May 19 the Lake Geneva Angels host the inaugural “Don’t Let Breast Cancer Steal Second Base” Benefit & Silent Auction, at Pell Lake Inn in Lake Geneva, WI. The event will raise funds for breast cancer research and access to care, in partnership with the Avon Foundation.

Online PR News – 16-May-2012 – Lake Geneva, Wisconsin – On May 19, 2012 the Lake Geneva Angels will host their inaugural “Don’t Let Breast Cancer Steal Second Base” Benefit and Silent Auction, at Pell Lake Inn, W1282 North Lakeshore Drive in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, from 12:00pm to close. The event will raise funds for breast cancer research and access to care, in partnership with the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade. The Kyle Young Band will provide entertainment.

The Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade will disperse all funds raised from the Benefit to help provide access to care, fund educational programs and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures, as well as many other worthy projects. The Pell Lake Inn is donating event space and entertainment. A variety of Lake Geneva businesses are contributing to the auction, including Flemings Ltd., Starbucks, The Board Shop and Diana Ferguson Artisan Jewelry. PFI Fashions Inc. is donating their specially designed “Don’t Let Breast Cancer Steal Second Base” tee shirt, available in sizes S – XXXL, for a $20 donation. There is also a meat raffle. “We’re going to have a wonderful selection of items at the auction, representing the best of Lake Geneva,” said Lake Geneva Angel Nicole Schuerr. “We’re grateful for the generosity of our local businesses, and encourage community members to attend. It will be a fun way to support an important cause, enjoy great food and entertainment and do a little shopping, all at the same time.”

The Lake Geneva Angels are Patricia Giffen, Cori Creighton, Capri Nurnberg, Nicole Schuerr and Kathy Graushar. Kathy, who was the inspiration for the Benefit, has fought three battles with Stage 4 breast cancer and is now in remission. Patricia and Nicole are also cancer survivors. In addition to hosting the Benefit, Patricia, Cori, Capri and Nicole will be walking at the 2012 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer: Chicago fundraiser on June 2-3, 2012. Kathy will be at the closing ceremony, dedicated to cancer survivors. Each walker has committed to raising $1,800.00 to help end breast cancer. Currently, the Angels are only $2,000 away from their goal of $7,250.00.
