Online PR News – 28-May-2012 – Ahmedabad – Ahmedabad, Thursday May 28, 2012: India’s only fully integrated furniture making company, Timbor Home Ltd, has got funding from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to set up high-end ‘IKI’ kitchen stores nationally in the current financial year. While the company’s existing 100 plus ‘Timbor Cucine’ modular kitchen stores are targeted at the price conscious spending class, the IKI Kitchen stores are positioned to attract the premium upper-end of the young Indian consumers.

The modular kitchen market in India is still at a nascent stage but has tremendous growth potential. It has been growing at 50% per annum and is expected to maintain this growth rate for some more years. Modular kitchens are customized according to consumer requirements, and can be set up with various accessories and appliances such as chimney, burner, etc. based on consumer needs.

Commenting on this new focus area of the company, Mr. Anant Maloo, Chairman and MD of Timbor Home Ltd. said, “Through IKI Kitchens we are bringing to India the newest concept of ‘Intelligent Kitchen’ by offering customized hi-end kitchen solutions through a world class range of cabinetry, shutters, storage, & hardware, including exclusive handles and special kitchen light fittings. IKI Kitchens will be showcasing Hettich’s award winning Red Dot design and many similar state-of-the-art products. With the Rs 6 Crore funding from SIDBI we will be able to put in place 30 such high-end kitchen stores across all the major cities in India during this financial year.”

IKI Kitchens is bringing the “Intelligent Kitchens” concept to the Indian kitchens, making them highly durable, functionally practical and user friendly, by ensuring good ergonomics and efficient space utilization, besides making them look aesthetically great. Working with the five functional areas of food storage, food preparation, pots & pans, cleaning agents & waste, china & cutlery, the planning concept helps to produce a layout that keeps distances short and workflows smooth. It also identifies intelligent storage solutions for each area.

Modular kitchens provide multiple benefits to the consumer. One can freeze a kitchen estimate and view the kitchen before ordering, do away with the hassle of hiring a carpenter and running around for materials. A modular kitchen can also be expanded or reduced in size at later stages, and can be fully relocated too.
