Free Indoor Events To Help You Beat the Heat This Summer At Mall Of The Americas

Mall of the Americas' family-friendly summer events include a health and safety expo, an all-American arts and crafts show, a community blood drive, and a back to school celebration.

• Hispanic Blood Drive, June 15-17: Be a “Hero of Life” and receive a pair of Miami Marlins tickets when you donate during this annual, county-wide blood drive to Community Blood Centers of South Florida. Three state-of-the-art, air conditioned bloodmobiles will be stationed at mall entrances from 10 am to 7 pm Friday through Sunday. Donors may also receive vouchers for free pizza, goodie bags for the kids, and will be entered into a raffle to win prizes, including a party suite at Marlin Stadium for up to 20 people. Popular music and delicious food will also be available all weekend long.

• Community Health & Safety Expo, June 30: This fun, family-friendly event will be interactive and educational. Insurance agents, medical professionals and safety experts will be on hand from 12 pm to 5 pm to answer questions while you have your blood pressure taken, get an eye exam or enjoy a relaxing massage. Bring the kids to interact with policemen, fireman and EMTs, as well as McGruff the Crime Dog, who will be flying in by helicopter! • Made in the USA, July 13-15: Celebrate America during our month of Independence at this Arts & Crafts showcase, featuring items made right here in the USA.
