FabTrol Pro and ATek Automationís DSTV Viewer integrated
Online PR News – 15-January-2013 – Eugene, Oregon – FabTrol Systems, a global provider of steel fabrication management solutions, and ATek Automation, a software consulting and development company specializing in solutions for the structural steel industry, have teamed up to help steel fabricators review three dimensional representations of CNC data from a bill of materials in FabTrol Pro.
Imports from modeling software such as Tekla and SDS/2 into FabTrol Pro can automatically include DSTV files for all parts, allowing fabricators to use ATEk Automationís free DSTV viewer to launch a three dimensional view of each part from FabTrol Proís bill of materials screen. Once the viewer has been launched, it automatically refreshes to show a three dimensional image of each part as it is selected in the bill of materials. The viewer is compatible with FabTrol Systemsí recently released FabTrol Pro Version 1.18, with upward compatibility planned for future FabTrol Pro releases.
For fabricators who want to edit and then save CNC data back into the FabTrol Pro bill of materials, ATek Automation sells an extension to the free viewer that supports editing and saving the altered CNC data. In 2013, both ATek Automation and FabTrol Systems will augment this work to ensure integration with the release, in 2013, of enhanced production routing and tracking capabilities in FabTrol Pro.
This integration between FabTrol Pro and ATek Automationís viewer/editor builds on both companies commitment to steel fabrication and their recognition of the need for supply chain partnerships in the industry.
