Dr. Margaret Chan joins top health leaders at IHFs 38th World Hospital Congress

Top Healthcare and Hospital leaders will come together in the city of Oslo, Norway 18-20 June 2013 to share information on the challenges and opportunities of future healthcare.

Online PR News – 18-April-2013 – Geneva, 18 April 2013 – In the midst of a changing panorama for the healthcare industry, the International Hospital Federation (IHF) invites health care decision makers worldwide to share and learn how modern technology improves access to high quality healthcare for patients, both within and beyond the realms of hospitals.

Following the Opening Ceremony, which will have HRH Prince Haakon of Norway as a guest of honor, Dr. Chan, Director General of the World Health Organization, will address how innovation and technology are game changers in the future of health.

Key decision makers in the healthcare and hospital industry will have the opportunity to participate in 5 plenary sessions as well as over 30 parallel sessions run by International Hospital Federation members such as the American Hospital Association (AHA), the Norwegian Hospital and Health Service Association (NSH), and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) along with other key health and hospital associations from around the world.

On the last day of the Congress, an operation will be broadcasted live from St. Olafs Hospital Operating Room of the Future.

This event remains the worlds unique forum where decision makers and leaders from regional and national healthcare federations, hospitals and healthcare organizations, are brought together to engage in dialogue, exchange experiences, ideas and knowledge on best practices in leadership in hospital and healthcare management and delivery of services. The World Hospital Congress is a biennial event. The 2011 Congress was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
