Amnesty International Prepares for Tennessee Conference

Amnesty International is preparing for a statewide human rights conference at the end of September 2013.

Online PR News – 27-June-2013 – Nashville, TN – “The subject of human rights must be taught – in school, in the community, everywhere,” says Julie Brinker, co-organizer of the Nashville chapter of Amnesty International. Brinker has been working to promote and educate others on human rights since 2004 when she joined up with Youth for Human Rights, a program supported by the Church of Scientology.

With nearly ten years of work under her belt, she is a veteran in educating others on their basic human rights. “When you take up human rights work, it must be done with passion and conviction,” she says.

Working with the regional offices of Amnesty International, based in Georgia, Brinker and the Nashville Amnesty chapter are planning to bring the state together at the end of September to discuss human rights concerns and get in action to correct abuses.

“We are bringing together human rights agencies of all types – those who work for equality, justice and freedom – into one place to network and grow,” says Brinker.

Amnesty International is the world’s largest human rights movement, according to “By bringing together all of these human rights organizations into one place, we can all unify to make a difference.”
