POLY-WOOD, Inc., manufacturer of sustainable casual furniture, recently unveiled the final phase of its permanent showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart.

¬¬¬Syracuse, Ind., October 18, 2013 -- POLY-WOOD, Inc., manufacturer of sustainable casual furniture, recently unveiled the final phase of its permanent showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart. The company completed an additional 1,600 square foot extension of its showroom in time for the International Casual Furniture and Accessories Market. During the Market, the efforts by POLY-WOOD were recognized with a Merchandising Excellence Award in the Under 5,000 square feet Permanent Showroom category by MMPI and other industry sponsors.

“With the completion of the final square footage of our new 15th floor permanent showroom, our entire POLY-WOOD professional team can now take pride in our Chicago home and its ability to fully display our growing product offering,” said Mark Phillabaum, co-founder, POLY-WOOD, Inc., Syracuse, Ind. “The industry recognition of the showroom with the merchandising excellence award further acknowledges the collective efforts of our showroom and product designers and their ability to creatively illustrate the POLYWOOD® story.”

The POLY-WOOD showroom extension brings the total square footage to 4,950 in a central position on the 15th floor of the Chicago Merchandise Mart. “My goal was to use the added space to further build upon the practical yet colorful first phase of the showroom introduced this past summer,” said Lauren Hodges, artistic director for POLY-WOOD, Inc. “Through the addition of wall murals and eclectic displays, the space has been designed as an interactive and expressive platform for our many collections of all-weather furnishings.”

Hodges completed the space with multiple vignettes, wall illustrations and artful merchandising displays. Their efforts, which were recognized with the Merchandising Excellence Award, also will serve as inspiration for POLY-WOOD’s retail partners for creating in-store displays of the outdoor furnishings. The award resulted from a select panel of casual furniture industry leaders in addition to Chicago area interior designers and merchandisers touring showrooms during the September market and grading each on creativity, functionality and spatial displaying within the showroom’s applicable category.
