Val Silver announces her new book, Rescue Me, to raise awareness and funds for non-profit shelters and rescues caring for homeless dogs. Rescue Me shares twelve stories about thrown away dogs, the humans who saved them, and how together their lives were better.

What happens when ten dog lovers on a mission to help homeless dogs join forces to share their true stories about thrown away dogs in need of loving homes, and humans yearning for unconditional love and canine companionship?

Local Reading Recovery teacher and Holistic Wellness Educator, Valerie Silver of Dexter, NY, announces the release of her first book, “Rescue Me: Tales of Rescuing the Dogs Who Became Our Teachers, Healers, and Always Faithful Friends”. Silver, a reading teacher at Theresa Primary School, and long time animal lover, has been working toward publication of her book for over a year in collaboration with nine other writers and animal advocates. In addition, she writes for Bellesprit, an online magazine aimed at educating people who want to heal and expand their knowledge at a spiritual level, and for her holistic mindbody healing website .

Rescue Me is a collection of twelve original inspirational short stories, complete with photos and accompanying audios, of ten dog lovers who rescued the dogs who ultimately rescued them. This book contains true tales of extraordinary commitment, physical and emotional healing, life lessons learned,overcoming challenges, faith, twists of fate, new lives, and the magical joy that comes from the bond of unconditional love and acceptance between humans and their dogs.

Rescue Me is a book with a mission. It was written to show that shelter and rescue dogs of all types and ages can make wonderful family members, as well as to raise awareness about the plight of homeless dogs and to encourage responsible pet ownership. Donations from the sale of Rescue Me will go to help shelters and rescues care for the animals in their care. Rescue Me is currently available on Amazon as a kindle book and will soon be released as a paperback.
