Research by a discount code website shows a seismic shift to high-end product consumers looking for discount codes, no longer at bottom end of the market solely
Online PR News – 24-April-2014 – London, UK – A new survey by a voucher code website has revealed that shoppers purchasing at the top-end of the market are as much as 5 times more likely to complete the purchase if there is a discount code available. The survey showed that consumers in the ABC1 income bracket spent on average 95 seconds looking for a discount code, compared with 104 seconds for those in lower income brackets.
The survey - completed in January 2014 and with 157 participants - also showed that most shoppers consider a discount of 10% to be the minimum they would need in order to complete the purchase then and there. As many as 45% of participants said a discount of 5% would not be sufficient for them to order on a whim.
"It just goes to show that the recession and continuing economic issues are having an effect on those who normally wouldn't be considered money-savvy" commented Laura Gibson, founder of Queen Voucher Codes which recently started offering voucher codes for larger stores, for example Debenhams discount code or promo codes for Amazon UK.
Started in 2012 by Laura Gibson, VoucherCode.io is one of the UK's fastest growing voucher code websites with over 8,000 stores offering discounts and deals, as well as last-minute offers. It receives over 500,000 visitors per month.
