Guitar Lesson Specialist Lick Library Presents Guitar Idol 2010

Guitar Idol 2010, sponsored by Lick Library, has been launched to find talented guitarists around the globe.

Online PR News – 04-August-2010 – – Following on from the success of Guitar Idol 2009, guitar lesson specialist Lick Library has opened Guitar Idol 2010. Having been the biggest online international guitar competition ever held, it is expected that an even larger number of musicians will apply this year.

As in previous years, this year's competition asks musicians to compose an original guitar composition. Generic rock, blues and metal backing tracks can be used, but the guitar part must be entirely original. Entrants must record and upload a video of themselves playing.

Last year over 1 million website visitors viewed the heats and 160,000 people registered to vote for their favourite compositions. The competition drew substantial media coverage in nations such as the USA, UK, Canada, Chile, Romania, Thailand, Australia, Pakistan and Guatemala. The 2010 competition is expected to be on an even bigger scale, attracting even more attention from the world of music.

Any guitarist in the world can enter the competition, increasing the chances of finding some of the most talented musicians in the world. 100 successful players (voted for through the website, the Youtube channel, top 10 favourited and by the Guitar Idol panel) will go through to compete in the second heat. These finalists will compete for the last 10 places.

Primarily backed by Lick Library, Guitar Idol also enjoys sponsorship from Marshall Amps, Paul Reed Smith and Rotosound. Lick Library provide guitar, bass and drum tuition and learning products to musicians around the world, as well as supporting a community of musicians through its site, Licklibrary.com.
